Research Plan for PhD Study

In the area of secure multiparty computation, most researchers either propose general solutions in theory or design protocols for specific problems in practice. However, as the general, theoretical solutions are usually of intolerable complexities, specifically tailored protocols often lack of systematic privacy validation procedures. Therefore, a method bridging the gap between the prohibitive cost, general solutions and the tediously proven, tailored protocols is ultimately desirous, and I would like to explore the adoption of compiler technologies as a potentially feasible direction. More specifically, the compilation framework will include a high-level language for end users describing their specific problems, a compiler automatically converting the given programs into secure multiparty protocols with better performance than the traditional solutions’, and a set of theoretical proofs formally verifying the privacy of output protocols.
